The Lawfirm of David M. Kennedy, P.C., is established on the principle that the legal system is there to be used for the redress of wrongs committed against our clients. We in turn are committed to defending the rights to open courts and trial by jury, and oppose efforts by special interest groups that seek to curtail this valuable right.

The Firm's clients consist almost exclusively of injured individuals, and families of those killed at the hands of others. As a result, most cases are handled on a contingency basis, since our clients cannot afford the out-of-pocket expense of battling the wealthy wrongdoers and their insurance companies. The percentage the Firm receives pursuant to the contract with our clients will vary slightly due to the type of case and anticipated expense and length of time to develop, but in all such cases our clients appreciate the security of knowing the Firm does not get paid unless a settlement or judgment is obtained on behalf of the client.

The Firm is dedicated to representing only those with a legitimate right to be in court. A civil lawsuit is a valued right, but because of legislative and judicial changes that have been accomplished by those who wish to tip the scales of justice in their favor, these lawsuits have become unjustly expensive and very time consuming. The Firm, therefore, must remain very selective as to which cases will be accepted. By doing so, our clients are assured that an ongoing evaluation of their particular case will take place, and only those cases that have merit will be prosecuted. At the same time, every case is prepared for trial, and all settlements must be approved by the client.

The Firm handles cases on both sides of the Red River, as well as states other than Texas and Oklahoma. Cases have and will be filed in both states and federal courts in Texas and Oklahoma, or wherever we are hired to represent our clients. Location is generally not a problem. The number of staff is kept to a minimum, and we do not set out to impress you with our office. We believe in putting finances into staff education and case development, and will let our success speak for itself.
